Fourth AnnualIola Hedgehog Fest
Floyd Aprill of Milwaukee Superpogs developed a special set of games for his Milwaukee Rendezvous, then brought them to Kansas for us to enjoy!
Lance "the Hedgeclown" Burleson helps Floyd get ready for the games, while Morgan and Connor Tong supervise.
Sarah Shore readies her contestant, Kaltia, while the cheerleading squad gets ready!
Contestants ready themselves for the first event, the Rendezvous Race. In this event, hedgehogs in exercise balls race neck to neck down a straightaway track.
And they're off!!! Go pigs go!!!
The next game was a hilarious version of musical chairs, where hedgies in their exercise balls travelled on a circular track, each part of which was labeled with a color. Before the music started, a color was chosen and when the music stopped, any hedgies on that color were out, until only one remained!
The cheering got intense as owners tried to persuade their hedgies off of the "out" color!
In the next event, The Mealworm Stalk, hedgies in exercise balls had to stay on the plastic and stalk (ie: run over) printed mealworms. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures that were focused that had the darling mealworm cards on them, but this contestant is going for the two biggest mealworms it ever saw, tee hee...
Sprite, owned by Nancy Thomas, was the top Mealworm Stalker, running over all but one of his mealworm cards!
Gadjit grouses that tubing was not one of the featured sports.
Gadjit showed everyone that she can even maneuver the mega-tube!
